About Lorna

My background is in Education: I taught for 10 years in a state sector primary school where I was head of a large infant department. After completing a Master’s degree in Education and having my three children, I also qualified to provide learning support for children with specific learning difficulties (SpLD).

Crucially, I have direct personal experience of the importance of choosing the right school for a child with additional needs. My elder son is dyslexic and my second son has ADHD, ODD and dyslexia. Between them they have attended a number of different schools, seen a range of professionals and had numerous assessments.

After much searching we placed my elder son at a specialist provision school. Although at 11 his dyslexia was so profound that he could barely read, or even write his name, I can proudly report that in his recent mock GCSEs he gained all A and B grades. He is taking his Maths GCSE early and hopes to study Maths, Physics and Engineering at A level.

Having found the right school for my son, my aim is to support you in finding the right school for your child.
